Greetings, Pilots-Engineers!
This is Captain Technician with a new development report. Version 0.11 is a big one. We have prepared the following improvements for the next deployment:
This version is currently available on Android. The iOS version will be live in about a day or two.
New - Your Own Space Base
- Build and expand your own base after completing Patrol.
- Turn raw materials into useful products with smelters, assembly factories, chemical plants and electronics production. Connect everything with conveyor belts and pipes.
- Keep your factories powered with solar arrays, turbines and reactors, and use capacitors to store spare energy.
- A separate base technology tree unlocks new buildings and production chains. Research Labs produce Tech Data for your research.
- Produce Private Resources in the Ship Engineering Center and store them in vaults to increase your ship-building budget beyond the normal Resource limit.
- Your base keeps producing while you are away, as long as its supplies, power and storage allow it.
- Asteroids can damage your base. Build defenses, supply them with ammunition and repair damaged buildings to keep production running. At the moment, asteroids are the only threat to the base.
New - Mining and Cargo
- Imperial Perimeter expeditions now contain resource asteroid fields. Break the rocks, collect the ore and bring it home for your factories.
- New blocks: Mining Drone Station, Cargo Hold and Specialized Cargo Hold. Mining drones collect drifting ore and carry it to your ship. Loaded ore adds real mass to your ship, so mining calls for a different design. Bring a stronger ship to make the expedition easier.
New - Player Trading
- Trade goods with other pilots.
New - Imperial Perimeter Co-op
- Fly an expedition together with 2-4 players, over the internet or on a local network.
- Unfinished co-op expeditions can be resumed ONLY with the host, and eliminated pilots can spectate the remaining ships.
- Online lobbies show connection quality, making it easier to find a suitable game.
New Challenge - Forlorn Hope
- Each Imperial Perimeter difficulty now has a harder Forlorn Hope variant with better rewards, unlocked by completing its normal version.
New Weapons, Shields & Laser Optics
- Flux Pin Turret and Heavy Flux Pin Turret fire pins that attach to active enemy shields and weigh the ship down. Each pin adds 3 or 8 mass respectively, and the ballast falls away when the shield collapses. These weapons barely scratch hull armor.
- Both turrets predict the enemy's movement and aim ahead of its core.
- New shield blocks: Advanced Arc Power Shield and Advanced Power Shield.
- New Harmonic Collimator - redirects an incoming laser beam straight out of its nozzle, regardless of the incoming angle. It also counts as a reflection for the Harmonic Laser damage bonus.
Autopilots & Drones
- New Autopilot Enhancer v3 unlocks Advanced Heavy and Advanced Rammer behavior.
- The autopilot selection window now includes descriptions and shows which enhancer version unlocks each behavior.
- New drone behaviors: Rear Guard and Rear Guard Laser Emitter.
Hangar & Quality of Life
- Fleet Base becomes your fleet's home screen, with docked ships and visible cargo unloading.
- New Ship Blueprints let you keep alternative designs and load them into the editor or sandbox. Blueprints are stored only on the current device and are not included in cloud saves.
- New Ship Info, Weapons Info, Shields Info and Building Tips panels explain your ship's power, mobility, damage output and protection in more detail.
- The editor highlights blocks that would become disconnected during battle.
- Try a skin on your own ship before buying it with the new preview button.
- New skins and combat optimization.
