Energy Shield Overview
In the vast emptiness of space, Energy Shields are your first line of defense against missiles and torpedoes. However, every defensive system has its weaknesses – energy weapons can destroy them easily and lasers ignore them completely.
Shield Performance:
- Strong against explosive damage (takes only 33% impact damage and ignore area of effect damage)
- Mid against kinetic weapons – no bonus or malus
- Weak to energy type weapons and completely useless against lasers (takes 150% impact damage but ignore area of effect damage)
Shield Power and Regeneration:
Shield Power works the same way as Hull Points of normal blocks but regenerates over time.
Both Shield Power and Regeneration are affected by ship power level. More about it here: Power Mechanics Overview
Ship power influence on Shield Power and Regeneration:
- 100 and more power – Max Shield Power +50 and Shield Regeneration +1
- more than 50 power – Shield Regeneration +0.5
- more than 0 power – Max Shield Power -50, Shield Regeneration -1 and Time between regeneration +0.5s
- less than 0 power – Max Shield Power 25%, Shield Regeneration 25% and Time between regeneration +2s
Specific Power Shields statistics:
- Arc Shield – Max Shield Power 220 and Shield Regeneration 3 every 1 second
- Power Shield – Max Shield Power 340 and Shield Regeneration 5 every 1 second
- Rotating Arc Shield (Used by the Squids, not available for purchase yet.) – Max Shield Power 500 and Shield Regeneration 10 every 1 second
Tactical Applications: Energy Shields excel in hit-and-run tactics, providing crucial protection during:
- Attack runs through enemy formations
- Rapid disengagement maneuvers
- Brief skirmishes where mobility matters more than sustained defense
